In add-on to his baseball game abilities, Berra is as well famous for his quotes. These witticisms, known every bit Yogi-isms, are known and loved by many baseball fans. Some of these quotes are among the virtually famous of all quotes in baseball and are used over and over by announcers.

As a fun fact, Yogi Berra also used to own a business firm in my hometown. At that place are rumors that he cached a home plate under the carpet in the basement of that house.

All quotes come either from the Yogi Berra Museum, Yogi Berra's website, Baseball Annual, Retro Galaxy, or Brainy Quote.

"Y'all accept to requite 100 percent in the first half of the game. If that isn't enough, in the second one-half, you have to give what is left."

I'one thousand no math major, simply I'm pretty sure that if you give everything you have in the get-go half, you have aught left for the 2d half.

"E'er get to other people's funerals otherwise they won't go to yours."

If people whose funerals you attended show up at yours, your guests will exist in for a big surprise.

twenty) Almost Pizza

"All pitchers are liars or crybabies."

This is truthful. Pitchers retrieve that every pitch they throw is a strike or that the batter went around. They too complain to the umps when they don't get calls.

14) Well-nigh the Hereafter

12 of 25

"The future ain't what it used to be."

Maybe Berra hopped in Doctor Brown's time machine and saw one version of the future. However, he may have altered the space-fourth dimension continuum, which would explain this quote.

13) About Mistakes

13 of 25

"Nosotros made too many wrong mistakes."

I attempt using a like alibi with my parents whenever I do poorly on an test. It doesn't piece of work.

"I usually take a two hour nap from ane to iv."

It should be condign clear that math was not Yogi's forte.

"Information technology ain't the heat, it's the humility."

    Jim McIsaac/Getty Images

"In theory in that location is no difference between theory and do. In practice at that place is."

Theoretically speaking, this does make sense. In theory everything should piece of work in practice based on the theory. Nevertheless, reality rarely ever occurs according to theory.

"I think petty league is wonderful. It keeps the kids out of the firm."

I'd detest to be one of Berra'southward kids if he was that happy just to get them out of the house for a few hours.

"If you ask me annihilation I don't know, I'm not going to reply."

"I'g not going to buy my kids an encyclopedia. Let them walk to school similar I did."

I get what Yogi'south going for with this quote. Still, but simply reading an encyclopedia is not a replacement for going to school. Information technology will however make yous very good at Jeopardy.

4) Nearly Driving

22 of 25

"When you come to a fork in the road, take it."

Some say that this statement has the most philosophical value. Information technology is suggested that when at a difficult decision, people should make a choice and not wait back.

There actually is truth to this quote. Information technology is based on driving directions to his home in Montclair.  Regardless of which manner y'all go, you get to Yogi'south home.

"Baseball is 90 percent mental and the other one-half is concrete."

I feel like I've said this earlier, but math isn't Yogi's affair. Ninety percent plus fifty per centum is one hundred 40 pct.

    Jed Jacobsohn/Getty Images

"It's similar déjà vu all again."

Since déjà vu is the feeling that ane has already had the feel that they are currently having, this must mean that Berra already had the experience twice.
